Epoxy Garage Floor Coatings
The foundation of every garage system on Galveston. A true epoxy base coat keeps salt-laden moisture from degrading the concrete underneath, topped with polyaspartic for UV and abrasion resistance.
Service area · Galveston, TX
Coastal-grade systems engineered for salt air, direct UV, and island humidity. Built for beach houses, vacation rentals, and UTMB-area commercial. 15-year installation warranty.

The short answer
Galveston is a barrier island sitting directly in the Gulf of Mexico, and every square foot of concrete on this island takes punishment that mainland properties never see. Salt air works into unprotected slabs year-round. UV exposure is relentless. Humidity runs higher than anywhere else in our service area. We install systems engineered specifically for these coastal extremes — from the historic Strand district to beachfront houses on stilts along Seawall Boulevard.
01 · What we install
The foundation of every garage system on Galveston. A true epoxy base coat keeps salt-laden moisture from degrading the concrete underneath, topped with polyaspartic for UV and abrasion resistance.
UV-stable polyaspartic topcoats critical on Galveston. With no shade buffer and direct Gulf sun, coatings that yellow or chalk under UV are a waste of money. Ours maintain clarity and hardness under punishing sun.
Popular in Galveston’s upscale beach houses and renovated Strand-area lofts where the floor is part of the design.
Broadcast flake systems that hide sand tracked in from the beach while delivering a clean, professional look — practical for garages, mudrooms, and rental property entryways.
Heavy-duty coatings for UTMB medical facilities, Strand retail, restaurant kitchens, and hospitality businesses.
UV-stable, slip-resistant outdoor coatings built for the harshest conditions in our service area — salt air, unfiltered UV, pooling water, sandy bare feet.
Seamless overlays for interior kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces — popular in renovated historic buildings and elevated beach houses where waterproof is also a priority.
Acid stains or penetrating sealers for covered porches and ground-level areas beneath elevated Galveston homes.
02 · Why Galveston
The conditions on Galveston Island are genuinely different. Salt air penetrates concrete pores and accelerates rebar corrosion, surface scaling, and efflorescence from the inside out. UV radiation is more constant than even the bay-area communities because there’s no building density or vegetation breaking exposure. Humidity regularly exceeds what we see 30 miles inland, directly affecting how coating materials adhere and cure.
We install our 2-day hybrid with standard-cure 100% solids epoxy that fully cross-links overnight, or our 1-day fast-cure when schedule demands it. Real epoxy chemistry on both — never polyurea shortcuts, which fail fastest on the island. In an environment where salt air and humidity attack the coating-to-concrete bond from day one, proper prep, materials, and cure times are non-negotiable. 15-year installation warranty on every install.
03 · How we build it
Salt damage, efflorescence, cracks, moisture vapor transmission, previous coatings, storm/flood exposure. Galveston slabs show deterioration patterns mainland concrete does not.
On island concrete exposed to salt air, surface contamination must be fully removed before the coating will bond.
Fill cracks, patch spalling, address salt-damaged areas.
Epoxy base plus polyaspartic topcoat — bond strength plus UV resistance for island conditions.
Barrier against salt air, chemical exposure, UV degradation, and moisture. Full cure time appropriate for island humidity.
04 · FAQ
Yes, but only if the system is designed for it. Salt air is the single biggest threat to unprotected concrete on the island — it penetrates pores, draws moisture, and accelerates surface breakdown. A properly applied epoxy base seals those pores and blocks salt intrusion; the polyaspartic topcoat provides a hard, UV-stable surface layer. Preparation is the key — our grinding removes existing salt contamination so the system bonds to clean substrate. Polyurea-only “1-day” shortcuts fail on the island faster than anywhere.
Salt air accelerates surface deterioration and rebar corrosion. Constant UV breaks down unprotected surfaces and yellows/chalks inferior coatings. Humidity drives moisture vapor transmission at higher rates than mainland. Tropical storms and flooding have submerged, repaired, or repoured many slabs — often with varying quality. Our evaluation assesses all these factors before recommending a system.
One of the smartest upgrades a vacation rental owner can make. Constant turnover, sandy feet, wet swimsuits, sunscreen spills — all destroy carpet and stain bare concrete within a single season. A coated floor cleans up with a mop, resists staining, and looks sharp for guests year after year.
Galveston gets more direct, unobstructed UV than most of our service area. UV breaks down cheaper coating materials, causing yellow, chalk, and eventual peel. This is exactly why we use a polyaspartic topcoat on every system — polyaspartic is inherently UV-stable and maintains clarity and hardness under direct Gulf Coast sun. UV resistance is not optional on the island.
Yes. The UTMB campus and surrounding medical district is one of the largest commercial floor concentrations on the island. Our commercial systems meet the chemical resistance, sanitization, and durability demands while also providing the moisture barrier island commercial properties need.
